What follows is a very interesting rumor. In the past, I've speculated a Zulu involvement within the video teleconferencing arena. I'm posting this only because it mirrors, somewhat, my past speculations. The first post comes from GORDONGGECKO over at ESVS/Yahoo; the second post is the tail-end of something I posted in response to RPDBMW relative to video teleconferencing, also over at ESVS/Yahoo: First Yahoo Posting GORDONGGECKO (52/M/NY,NY) Jul 31 1998 5:52PM EDT "Zulu...is being bought by another company without esvs!!! the company is a telecomunication company specializing in long distance rates & video confrencing, deal to be announced soon." Second Yahoo Posting "....By the way, I'm extremely curious about the potential sale to a long distance phone carrier and video teleconference company. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see silent banner or other kinds of advertising connected, in some manner, to video teleconferencing, which would, of course, rely on computer to computer connections. Just imagine sitting there [at] your teleconferencing deskstation, talking to and seeing your mother, who is on the other side of the country. It's Mother's Day, and there's an advertisement on your your screen reminding you how you can quickly and easily get flowers to her. Heck, you could even click the button and get the flowers enroute, while you're still actually talking to her. I mean this is not far-fetched. In fact, with demographics targeting and so forth, the targeting agency would even know the likes and dislikes of [each] person on both ends of the teleconference, and the ads can be displayed according to their known preferences. I mean just think of it: Your computer thinking like you do! Get it?" Added thought: As soon as you've completed your half-hour to hour-long video call to your mom, the doorbell rings to her door, and guess what? Flowers!
