Just saw Hi-Val DVD2 kit in CompUSA for $199.99 (after $30 mail-in rebate) which is exactly the same amount Creative Technologies charges for its DVD2 kit. On the Hi-Val box it specifically says "with REALmagic MPEG-2 decoder", which means that some shipments have been made to Hi-Val during fiscal Q2'99. Considering Hi-Val's large retail presence and very competitive pricing of this DVD2 kit I think it could sell well in the future.
