'I have compiled a number of articles on Y2k in the utilities:
exchange2000.com

I think there is an article on Ontario Hydro as well.

There is an extensive discussion going on at the moment about this issue. Electrical utilities are the most important enterprises that MUST remain intact as much as possible. All other industries depend on it.

For me it is very difficult to say anything definite on how big a problem this will be. But I am not too optimistic after reading a lot of this stuff.

Also, look at the discussion at yourdon.com and at euy2k.com. The most interesting stuff is copied to the SI threads.

Sample: 'Any place to post large refurbished generators for sale?

asked in the Electric Utilities and Y2K Q&A Forum

Hi Rick, We have just funded a large purchase order financing transaction for a company that refurbishes
large diesel generators. He buys, transports and resells 1.0 megawatt diesel units worldwide. Do you
know of any place on the web to post the equipment he has available?

He is in the process of acquiring a 900 megawatt Ruston CSV V8 in good condition, and just sold 2ea
2.5mw units to Jamaica. I am trying to help him out, as these units would be ideal emergency backup
power for manufacturing facilities, etc. but I am way out of my league. Thanks, K.R. Cowdry Skylar
