No, that would be foolhardy, and a waste of time and money.
.
There would be nothing to gain going AMEX, and it wouldn't mean that the NASDAQ would lower there standards to allow an AMEX fellow to move on over.
.
The AMEX is going to be a separate division. No Market Makers, just Specialists ruling their own little fiefdoms as usual.
.
List the benefits of going AMEX:

I'll list why NOT:
"NO ONE" recommends AMEX stocks.
"NO ONE" even looks at the AMEX actives of gainers list.
"NO ONE" even knows what AMEX Major Market Val is (900) or which is the one to follow - the Market Val or the Major Mkt... because No ONE cares!

You wont see the "level II" you wont see their hand.

You wont be able to get in with the middle of the Spread with an ECN if the main players wont play fair with your buy or sell order.

You will have ONE man running all trading for the stock. Trade it HIS way, or trade it NO WAY.

Now it is your turn to laud a move to the AMEX...

Colin

I have seen this happen with two of my stocks that went on to do well. First they listed on AMEX and shortly thereafter switched to NASDAQ. Seems like a pretty good plan to me. I don't see how anything could be worse that BB. I think if we could get listed on NASDAQ, we would have already done so.
