Purething, lets look at the facts:
-we had a relief rally to $4.00+ after years of development when Singapore airlines finally launched the gaming system
-Stevenson was completely occupied at the time with insuring that the system was launched and did not have the time or believe (IMO) that the timing and frequency of positive news releases after the crucial launch needed to be managed (a common problem with startup companies)
-Singapore sensibly is testing the system to ensure software integrity, training flight personel, and carefully monitoring customer reaction and usage in a very low key manner (taking more time than I believe shareholder expectation had tolerance for)
-other gaming contracts have yet to materialize after IEL management disclosed that negotiations with other airlines were in advanced stages
Under these circumstances the stock has suffered
On the positive side:
-Singapore airlines has been quoted on several news services (identified on this tread) that they were very happy with the system, that technically it was working flawlessly (after fixing several minor glitches) and that they planned to add the gaming sytem to a second aircraft by Sept/98 with the intent of rolling out the system at the rate of 1 to 2 Jets per month thereafter
-IEL is positioned with many other airlines that are currently using IEL's games systems, some of which have publicly indicated an interest and desire to add gaming (Cathy Pacific Airlines quoted publicly)
-IMO once Singapore Airlines is clearly seen as proceding with this schedule, many other airlines will have no choice but to move aggresivley to also install gaming
Again the reason I'm still positive is that IEL management is now accutely aware of the need to better manage the timing of announcements and I still have faith that the original customer exit interviews done by Haras will live up to expectations when the gaming system is marketed to customers, which has not been done yet.
Good Luck to all of you that stay the course
