Re: Smith Barney: Lets look at this from the Brokerage Standpoint:
1. They know that the internet stocks have provided 4,5,6, 700%
returns in a year and there is little time to pick up the run, and the run is solid.
2. They know that the predictions for the income in the internet/intranet are in the Billions.
3. They see that FNTN is linked to some pretty big players, with a good idea.and is NOT your usual BB stock.
4. They probably have investors screaming at them to find them the next internet rocket. Someone posted an article along these lines. The search is on.
Conclusion: Not so far fetched to think Smith Barney is looking and probably doing DD on it. After most brokerages sat on the side lines while the internets caught fire, they probably are realizing that if they don't get into it they won't look to good in their highly competitive world. I think its very possible SB is doing just as stated.
