There are probably several CATV operators in the Dallas area. I know TCI is one of them. Perhaps Ken can provide us with some actual numbers. My impression is that, when you look at the whole picture (digital video + music + premium packages), The Beam offers a much better deal than both cable and DBS. But if you wanted basic analog service only, then CATV offers the best deal (as it also would over DBS).

Also, as you may recall, The Beam's previous pricing structure for its high-speed Internet access service started at $99.95/month for residential customers. This has changed dramatically. The current pricing structure is now much more affordable to the average Joe and will probably remain in line with competition. Despite all the delays, I also believe The Beam may still be first to market for certain services in the Dallas area.
