Dr. F, I copied this from Yahoo board, Frank it was to you hope you won't mind. It seems to ring true as to what I remember Cheap Investor saying over the years. I've only been in 6 years. Not as long as Jim has. Here it is:
9:29AM EDTDr Fleck asked the question on SI as to the history of Fonar's stock price. I don't post there so would you pass on that I was around in the very beginning of this stock coming public and the original issue price was $5. Within about 3 weeks the stock went to a high of 14 3/4 during the day. That occured in about November of 1981. The stock drifted down to around 2 5/8 during the summer of 1982. The underwriter went out of business and most of their stocks took a pretty bad hit. I noticed in approx mid-July from an article in the WSJ that Fonar had been approved as a marginable stock by the Fed Reserve. Of course the price was too low at the time, but I felt due to this approval, it was due for a move up. I was right, and it worked its way above 5 fairly quickly. I believe it was about 6 to 8 months later that the stock hit $15. Thanks.
