Mike,
Just got back from some R and R. You have a tall order there. I can best answer in a generalization. Basically, the speculative world is short the yen and trades ( gold ) associated with it. If some sort of assault was launched, the devastation would of many of these financial entities would be quite something. Wipe outs left and right.
The volatility is probably very, very low in out of the money gold calls of that nature, so an absolute killing would be made by the owners of these calls if a surprise move by the Japanese occurred. All the related derivative trades would unwind.
