You posted this on both ALTR and XLNX threads. Am I mistaken, or is the article about a company LEAVING the business and painting a bright face on it.

Not really competition. Quicklogic is getting killed as Xilinx and Altera catch them on speed, beat them by up to 10X on density, and blow them out of the water on tools, not to mention the severe headache that having a high-density device that is OTP causes for customers.

Quick is doing the same thing Lucent is doing and Mot tried to do - differentiate themselves in hopes of gaining market share. If they have the support and marketing network in place, they may win some designs, but XLNX and ALTR will catch them and win ultimately due to the flexibility and customizability of a reprogrammable solution.
