Gary,
Shouldn't you be out at the swimming pool by now???

Welcome to the darkside of the TDT!

I think we are in violent agreement about the over-reaction by WS to the ASND/SRA rumors. I bought August calls simply for the short term pop I expect to see at the latest by Wednesday (CSCO earnings play).

So what do you think the driver is:

ASND wants to play with the big boys and thinks they can do better on their own? (making themselves unattractive to LU, and more competitive with CSCO, LU, NT).

Haven't seen this idea come up; LU sees value in SRA and encourages ASND to acquire. Didn't BAY do this sort of thing recently?

Correct me if I am wrong, but an SRA acquisition falls into the same category as CSCO's Lightstream acquisition.

BTW: Thanks for the insightful analysis so far on SRA. SRA's cash on hand really emphasizes the over-reaction.

Tom

Anyone.... I could use some TA on MRVC.

Looks to be at bottom. Below all moving averages now, financials are good..just announced a better than expected quarter 2 weeks ago with positive forward looking statements. MRVC is a healthy take-over target has very good current technology as well as solid customers in COMS and ASND (I'm guessing on the later). One reason for today's sell off (I think) is that some may believe that with ASND buy of SRA that ASND would not be interested in MRVC any longer as some had postulated. Of course the SRA and MRVC are two completely different businesses so the SRA purchase has no reflection on possibilities for ASND or anyone else for that matter making them an offer.

Another positive - MRVC is said to be developing a terrabit router which could be of use to any of a large number of companies (ERICY, ALA, COMS, NT, even LU if they don't go after ASND, and indeed even ASND themselves).

Comments? Get in cheap? I don't understand why this pup is trading so low...
