being a subscriber of the Economist I can mention that this weeks edition has two articles on SAP. The second one describes how ABB a huge " Swiss-Swedish engineering conglomerate " (all quotes from the article) " with one of the world's most global and decentralised business structures " is implementing " the latest version of SAP's software ... which will integrate popular new accounting techniques that SAP hopes, will make it appeal to firms looking for a better way to cut costs." " ABB is shifting to an increasingly popular accounting system known as "activilty-based costing". The idea is to change the way in which costs are counted."
About 2 months ago The Economist had a supplement on the revolution in production processes. SAP was also mentioned.
So, SAP is at the forefront of new business methods. That is something for longterm investors to note. I would think.
