Thanks for the article. Intels segmentation strategy does appear to be working. I was at Best Buy today. They had 21 desktop PCs on display 4 were AMD (two 266mhz and two 300mhz), 1 Cyrix (120mhz) and the other 16 Pc's were Intel PII and celeron.

AMD and Cyrix were relegated to the low end in processor and hard drive/memory configuration. Best Buy knows how to structure their product line.

BTW: BBY would have been a good investment it went from 6 to 43 in the past year!

I am looking for a meaningful article or analysis on the long term future for Intel in the microprocessors (e.g. Merced) for servers and workstations in the 3-5 year future. Any suggestions?

Help would be much appreciated.
