<<My question is: Why is asnd spending money for this company "IF" LU is suppose to be buying them? Maybe the LU rumor will just end up a rumor.>>

Tim:

My conclusion is that the purchase of SRA is either a good idea or a bad one. If it is a good idea, then any LU deal (that may or may not be in the works) would NOT be affected. If it is a bad idea, then the LU deal is not going to happen.

More worrisome to me is insider selling at this point. Even though virtually everyone on this board is poo-pooing the selling as as a typical pattern, I have to ask: If I felt my company was going to be bought out at 60+, wouldn't I hold onto my shares a little longer to make another 20+%? Maybe Morty needs a lot of cash to buy a small country somewhere, but it doesn't compute in my mind.

Hey Tim, ya know as often as we're on this thread it's amazing we've never chatted before. Glad to see you'r back... and Bucky89 too!

As for your question I don't think it would be in ASND or ASND's investors best interest simply to sit back and wait for an expected move by LU. Rather ASND must operate as a going concern. If not, and if LU doesn't come knock'n then ASND inaction could put them behind the data/voice convergence space. As you and I both know every month counts in this industry.

Also, everyone (I mean the anal-ysts) seem to view this as a major deal! It's not. It's simply an insurance move. With $300M in cash the SRA takeover is a $500M - likely to be accretive - purchase by ASND. The sell-off was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay waaaaaaay over done. I'm looking forward to Monday.
