Alan, I'm sorry you've had some trouble with executions recently at Brown & Co. One thing I know from my experience is that if the problem is real, they'll work to fix it, quickly. Every broker I've ever used has had an occasional problem. The important thing to me is that they care to take care of it. I have never needed to call Mr. Brown, but I believe you can do that. I was told to write him with suggestions once, but I didn't. Let me know what happens.

If Web Street had followed up to fix the problems, if Joe Fox had returned my call as promised and had given me the credits that were promised. If he'd been willing to listen to the list of problems and had impressed me with a sincere interest in resolving the problems and a reasonably quick time frame that proved valid, I'd be praising Web Street now. Most problems I have now at Web Street existed several months ago when I started with them!

ALL brokerages have occasional problems. The test is whether they care to fix them expeditiously.

I had SIX executions yesterday at Brown and TWO at Waterhouse. I had no complaints.

Linda

MMs now are routinely removing orders from automatic execution and entering them into a manual queue so they can control the order flow.

Wow, Alan. Was this a floor guy BS-ing you, or do you think it is real? If true, it is a license to steal. If there is any confirmation of this, it should be shouted from the rooftops. Well, from a lot of SI threads, anyway.

Or, maybe we should all just have a moment of pity for the poor MMs, who may not be making as much as they like because of all the new SOES and other daytraders.

Good trading,

jim
