Thanks for your input !
All it says about slots is...
PCI...3
ISA...1
shared...1.
I/O ports...serial..1,paralel... 1,usb ... 2.
I dont know about the operating system it just says Windows 95 & personal guide.
I do plan on adding windows 98. Will I still need an additonal video card ? If so what do you reccomend ?
You do know this is a refurb with only a 90 day warranty. HP offers an extended 3 year on site for like $289 more but its not next business day like Dell. I kinda figure thats a bit high and will pass on the extended warranty i think.
This system is for sale at Surplus Direct for $1699 but I got it on some kind of loss leader (lucked out) realated to an e-mail special
for $1149.
Considering that I'm not technically knowledgable this sure seems like a lot of machine as compared to what else I could get for $1158 delivered.
One caveat. As of my order it was back ordered. The site says its due in 8/9 but a few days ago it said 8/7 so who knows. They told me mine would go out before any others.
Anyone interested can see more details at the HP website and lesser details at Surplus.
Oh and the shipping choices are 6-10 business day UPS for $7.99 (which I got) or 2nd day air for $54.98. I figure for $47 i can wait a little longer !
I understand this computer was originally offered for sale THE DAY the 400's came out...april 15. I'm a little worried that it might have some bugs but its supposed to be working properly now right ?
