From first hand knowledge installing SAP applications AND working at EDS for well over 10+ years I can tell you that it will not work! First of all for SAP to operate properly all levels of management must agree with the fundemental approach that occurs with an SAP implementation. Secondly, you must have eperience with a successful SAP project to understand what works and what does not (EDS is severly lacking in this arena). The distributed client/server approach is something EDS has accepted with open arms; EDS has not been successful with this concept.... Lastly, an SAP implementation takes a long time (talk to any of the Big 6, esp. Anderson) and they will tell you that an SAP installation takes years of analysis and rollout.

In short, don't expect EDS to have substantial gains with respect to SAP implementations. It will be years before they show a significant profit and by the time they perfect the SAP concept their will most likely be another software package that is in more demand.

This just reflects the fact that EDS is behind the times with respect to software package implementations. ERP software is hot and has been in demand for the last 3 or 4 years - why didn't EDS jump on the bandwagon 3 years ago and establish themselves as the leader (like Anderson)?
