Not counting on news but hope the information is accurate.

They should have announced partnership or buyout when they released the sales force. Whatever is to be announced, it is overdue.

Anyways, if a party wanted to accumulate, someone has purchased the stock over the last 3 weeks. Many millions of shares traded.

gw,

It would be nice to hear some news on Monday and I hope that Mr Andrews knows what he is talking about. However, I think that Vivus will have made some sort of deal no longer than by the end of this quarter. I make this assumption based on the fact that Vivus will no longer have the 150 rental employees sent to Alza working selling MUSE after Q3 (they have already prepaid Alza for the rental reps services to sell MUSE until the end of Q3). Now if Vivus has no deal by the end of Q3 there will only be the old sales force left calling on the urologists. I would hope that Vivus management would not be so stupid as to not have either a domestic partner calling on the PCPs by the beginning of Q4 or have the company sold by then. If Vivus management has accomplished nothing by the end of Q3 then they will have missed an important marketing opportunity to significantly increase domestic sales at a time when Viagra publicity has given ED sufferers a reason to see their doctors and when many safety concerns regarding Viagra have been raised.

BOTTOM LINE IS THAT IF MANAGEMENT REALLY WANTS TO SAVE FACE REGARDING THE PROFITABILITY OF VIVUS THEY MUST HAVE SOMETHING NEGOTIATED BY THE END OF THIS QUARTER AND NOT THE END OF THIS YEAR. WE ARE TALKING MILIONS OF DOLLARS OF POTENTIAL DOMESTIC MUSE SALES IF NOTHING IS SET UP FOR THE START OF Q4!
