Frank:

Absolute uncertainty!!! How could you be sure of any company, regardless of performance, in this unpredictable market. Despite the fact that T is still the most widely owned stock, analysts have been generally negative for a long time.

I've been in and out of T for 30 years and have made a lot of money in the process, as my trade timing has been on target. While there has been much criticism of management, if a long shareholder added up all of the spinoffs from the Baby Bells through Lucent they would determine decent total return. And this is despite some real blunders, which, because of their size and market share they were able to survive.

I don't feel you can be smug about any holding with today's volatility. I personally review my portfolio daily, including T which I am long on currently, but which I would unload tomorrow if my sell indicators prevail.

And I repeat, I like their chances for continuing at the top.
