I'll try again.

Does anyone have any thoughts on CNWK selling a portion of its Vignette investment in order to balance out an extraordinary charge in its quarter to eak out a surprise quarterly profit?

Here's why I don't like it: Sep 98 issue of The Red Herring picked Vignette as its "Best Overall" company in its list of 50 "Private company superstars". It also gave Vignette "Best Products". Additionally, in the short Vignette write up, according to Vignette's CEO indicates that an IPO will come with 12 months. Assuming there's any sort of IPO market at all at that time, this one will be one of the hottest and CNWK will have left a ton of money on the table.

What am I missing?
