Edge, maybe more like the local paper than radio, except in both cases, without the content side. It sounds to me like AIMS plans to have some sort of localized "portal" where local retailers could advertise to the area's AIMS Internet subscribers (at least, that's what I got out of the links I followed). But, if they expect to cover the cost of providing free dial-up internet access, costs that are tough to cover charging $19.95/mo., with advertising from local malls and merchants, they will have to provide substantial and expensive content like the local paper does. Would you bother with the local paper if it consisted only of ad inserts?

Interesting idea, but I can't see sitting down to Sunday breakfast with my computer on the table, clicking my way through an online version of the Circuit City newspaper insert or even the sports section.

"Dear, can't you put that computer down during breakfast and talk to your kids? Oh, wait - pass me the keyboard and mouse - we need to print out that floor cleaner coupon."
