Don't worry about the INS political vote.

For several reasons: (1) It does not touch on the naturalization function, which represents the $22.3 million appropriation. An excerpt from the link: "INS would retain the service mission it already performs: Doling out benefits such as citizenship,
work permits and the like." (2) It will not affect already appropriated monies. (3) It doesn't matter which agency does it, the same work will get done by the same people. (4) Just because there is a House vote on the subject, it is a long way from being law.

We knew that forces were at work to destroy the INS.....Perhaps this is the opening salvo.....Notice it was a voice vote?....What a bunch of chickens.

Lots of debate on this stuff......and budgets are spent prior to September 30th. A budget freeze would not be good for IDX's chances to land a big contract....but I think machines have been shipped all of the way along here.
