Just to say what a great thread this is! I have 'graduated' from the world of penny stocks (great learning ground for me especially when capital was low), have moved on to Nasdaq's now. I finally read through all the posts summarized by Irby (written by Ken), and found them to be most useful. I'm also reading the Electronic Day Trader for a second time (first time was overwhelming) which has also provided additional insight. Also, monitoring the irc rooms but not acting, is a good learning tool, watch a ticker after someone posts news, or a CNBC mention etc. Good for getting a feel of what to expect in different situations. Moving acct to MB Trading and hoping for even more profits! (1600% gain here from April through end of July) Had to be a semi-daytrader, more of a short term position trader as I work and can't monitor all market hours, I guess I'll still have to be that way, but with a better education and better trading tools, I can make more of my trading time I hope.
