My understanding is that there there will be approval by an EC regulatory agency to whose deliberations the national agencies (eg MCA in UK) will make a contribution. This approval was supposed to come in September. If some EC countries are now dragging their feet because the national health authorities cannot decide how viagra will be paid for the timing of this EC decision might well be affected.

Viagra approval date in Europe: My wife just told me that she saw in the news today (ZDF "Heute-Nachrichten") that EU approval is expected (or announced?) by the end of this month (August).

I have no idea how to resolve the contradiction to the report in the Hannoversche Allgemeine (= a German newspaper) which I mentioned in message 4699. I can hardly imagine an EU wide approval and only Germany NOT approve Viagra.

My wife mentioned also that according to the news not one single pill will be paid by German insurance companies. Perhaps they made up their minds for that and therefor they are willing to approve pretty soon already?
