You are comparing AOL to AMZN. AOL is not a retailer. AMZN is a retailer. Do you see a difference there?

Let's look at retailers. Walmart, Kmart, Sacks, Nordstrom, J.C. Penney, Sears Roebuck and Co. have all increased their marketing expenses. There are thousands more.
