Bravo Peter, bravisiomo!!! Your two resent posts are remarkable.
It should open eyes to our blindness CA's bulls about CA internal problems.
You told everything right and in polite words. It was exactly that I was trying to say in my rough posts about CA and off topic historic comments, but it didn't spark any thoughts in bull's heads.
I knew that it couldn't going on forever. You cannot get away from human factor in high tec industry.
For years I was wondering when it is going to hit CA in the back. It happened, once they moved from mainframe revenue to Unicenter TNG and consulting services.
Gall.

Peter: Granted that Wang declared that there may be some smaller acquisitions in the services area, I thought his main message was that CA would build this division internally. I would assume that this is what has been happening these past two three months, and that within six months more one might start seeing significant developments in this area, helped by some small acquisitions. (No doubt CA critics will respond that nobody wants to work for CA etc etc etc - ad nauseum - making me wonder who those thousands of CA employees are?)

Say Peter, Time to load up the truck with puts? Not even Paul Levy is saying anything on CA right now and hes a very good analyists, I just think you ex-ca'ers are biased :>

CA Employee 101 whatchagottado Aug 3 1998 1:04AM EDT

Just a note on why it seems that ex-CA-employees are unhappy and CA employees are happy with the Company.

Every employee of CA will tend to back off saying anything derogatory about the company in fear of getting fired. Everyone who works at CA are to act like management, that being "Yes" men. They will agree to whatever is put in front of their faces even if it meant that they were doing something underhanded, possibly illegal. CA has a way of intimidating their employees.

As for management being so poor is because they are 1) not really managers 2)have no idea how to act like managers 3) and have been taught how to be behave like managers by CA who have no idea what a manager is. CA should invest in training which they presently do not believe in.

CA's human resources is a front for Sanjay and Charles playing with people's minds and lives. It never ceases to amaze me that the poorest performers according to their reviews are the ones who are chosen for management. The reviews are written only in the negative and are used if and when an employee has to be terminated. God forbid you disagree with a review and refuse to sign. Know that your number is up.

In regard to Suzanne Butler you cannot fault her totally. Her behavior is well known throughout the company and yet she is allowed to act the way she does. Where was and is management (Lisa Mars and now straight from Finance, Debbie Coughlin?) Since she has not been told that she is out of line why should she change.? Also remember that Suzanne Butler made her way through the company in her early years by having an affair with an ex-CA executive.

Computer Associates was voted one of the best places to work. Only if you are part of the upper echelon. As much as I dislike all the racist talk about Sanjay and Charles, I do know that these two are evidently racist themselves.. In looking at their workforce how many SVP's, VP's and managers are African-American? Hispanic? How many SVP's, VP's and Managers are women that have not slept with any executives? (Monica Lewinsky would have a field day at CA)

One of these days the employees are going to become tired of the way they are being treated and tell the truth about what is happening in CA without being fearful. Especially all those who are in Sales Accounting and departments where they are privy to all the underhanded dealings. If and when CA gets investigated they should dig a little deeper than higher management and get to all those who do the work, know the ins and out of booking the contracts after end-of-month, creative revenue posting and the like.. These are the people who knows what is happening.

CA has no appreciation of their employees. They would sell them out in a minute. It's about time that the employees realize this and start to watch out for themselves because without them CA is nothing. Only Sanjay and Charles haven't realized this yet. They are too interested in making money off the sweat of their backs.

thanks for your interesting response.... yes a report from the meeting would be highly welcomed....

How bout........SAP buys CA.... let's put it this way.... CA losing half it's value makes them appear to look pretty edible ...

hhhhhhheeeer leezerd leeezrd leezrd.

I agree the services aspect appears to have become the real achilles heel....on top of the accounting story....which fell apart when the sales basis for it did..... like so many others .... a case in point being IFMX..... although white's moves there probably should put him in prison when you think about it........

Lots more work needs to be done on all of this before where all this is leading will become clear....that's seems sure...

I liquidated all my positions about six weeks ago out of market concerns.... but yes.... CA could have easily affected me and very badly I might add.

I still find BTW the threat employees will quit has stopped their services aquisitions strategy a little shaky.... would be much better if you could be more convincing on this particular point....
