Matra Marconi's Orion 2 has been recycled:

Eutelsat has signed a contract with Matra Marconi Space for a new satellite, RESSAT, to guarantee service continuity in the event of a launch failure of one of its W series spacecraft, the first of which (actually W2) will be launched on an Ariane 4 in October (it was to have flown on Ariane 503). W1 was damaged by a fire at Aerospatiale in June. RESSAT will be delivered in December. The order took advantage of the fact that MMS had a spare spacecraft bus available to offer a customer a "good deal". This was the original Orion 2 satellite which was not needed because the Orion 2 will now be supplied by Space Systems Loral, which merged with the Orion company.

I finally bailed out of Iridium, taking profits about a week ago. I bought it at 27 in August last year and sold it at 46.

Although I wish I had sold at 72 or whatever the high was, I'm glad I'm out of it. On a positive note, my purchase of IRIDF led me to LOR, which I now judge to be the better of the two from an investment standpoint, IMHO.
