Jay,
The Clinton scandals are much worse, but of course you didn't know that, did you? Nixon had the decency to resign from office rather than tear the country apart. But Clinton, he only cares about himself. But what is even scarier is people such as yourself who are deceived so easily. Of course, the socialist democrats appeal to individuals of lessor intelligence. Oh, I bet you did not know that, did you??? Do you wonder why this is true??? Think about it!!!!

Here we go again...

You want Clinton to pay $40 million? I think Starrr should pay
back the $40 million he has squandered - to date all this has amounted
to is a question of stains on a dress. What a pathetic waste of money.

Fact: The $40 million bill would have been considerably less if it weren't for the stonewalling and delaying tactics of the White House and their lawyers. Starr was hired by Janet Reno to conduct the investigation, and every penny on his expense report is authorized by her.

Fact: Included in the $40 million tag are the convictions of at least 30 of the folks on this shameful list: etherzone.com

Fact: If Watergate is to be used as a comparison, let's not forget that the possession of a single FBI file was enough to get Charles Colson sent to the federal pen for seven months. Compare that to the 900 or so FBI files that Craig Livingstone got for the White House.

Fact: Yes, Republicans are ashamed of Watergate and of Nixon's behavior in it. They acknowledge his wrongdoing. They don't like it any more than you do, believe me. But NO Republican ever had reporters (excuse me - "celebrities") like Geraldo claiming that it was "all about burglary."

If $40 million results in the removal of the most corrupt, unethical, self serving president we have ever had, I'll start having some fundraisers myself. Best money the American taxpayer ever spent.

If this is the standard to which you aspire then we can start with Lawrence Walsh's paying back the $100 million he spent over, what, eight or so years, to get not even one conviction that stuck much less the 30 or so, as of last count, with many more to follow by Starr and the subsequent IC to investigate the campaign finance abuses. Talk about a zealot. Even today Walsh still expresses his vitriol against Reagan and Bush and anything conservative.

Interesting note, Richard Nixon was forced to resign rather than face charges of perjury, obstruction and subornation of perjury. These are the exact same charges that Mr. Clinton is currently being investigated for. If Mr. Starr has the goods on ole Bubba, the Clinton scandals will be no lesser of a stain on the American Presidency. JLA

>>Re "travelgate, filegate, and how about trooper gate?"

None of these "gate"s are anything to compare
with the standing shame of the GOP, namely Watergate.

Agreed. Clinton is far far worse. Starr's report will detail why the Clinton Administration has been nothing less that a 6 year long criminal enterprise and conspiracy.

And yes, after the Dems apologize for smearing Starr, they should be forced to repay the money they have cost the US as a consequence of their criminality.

Agreed. Clinton spent over $45 million of US money on his China vacation and now his own Sevretary of State says the Chinese are more abusive of human rights than before:

His trip to China looks equally hollow. Just last week,
Secretary of State Albright complained that the Chinese "have moved
backward" on human rights since the Clinton visit.

Actually, the Clinton scandals were much worse. Clintons should pay back the money the public paid to bail out the Madison Guaranty. Not to mention the bribes that they took from Tyson Foods so they could pollute at will. The Travel Office and FBI File scandals were abuse of power, in the same manner as Nixon, in attempting to use the FBI and the IRS for personal gains. Foster was Hillary's point man in the Travel Office scandal to attempt to get the IRS and FBI to falsely investigate and charge the seven Travel Office employees.
