I hope that the spin-off doesn't reduce dividend. But of more concern is that NOR is looking to buy a mine in Australia. Announced today: "Savage Resources shares sprinted to a five month high of 78 cents amid now familiar takeover talk and a drilling update from its Red Legs prospect in Western Australia. Canada Noranda Inc. mentioned as one of the bidders..." see yahoo: biz.yahoo.com
Any comments on this potential to add to bottom line in future for NOR? How about costs up front? Maybe they are spending the $ they had set aside for the now scrapped US smelter deal.
Reid. (Long on Nor)

Yes NOR announced that the dividend would be reduced to C.60 but look at the volume - 480K shares - someone is buying. This baby sure bounced back today. If copper ever rallys NOR will certainly pop.
