I think B & N and Borders are taking the internet seriously. But they probably see most of the profits coming from deals they work out to supply publications and media products business-to-business. They have the facilities, experience and staffs to do EDE on the internet much more effectively than Amazon.com which does not participate in that market. While they are doing significant advertising for consumer business, their objectives are probably much different than Amazon's. "Let Amazon.con fight over what will become the highly price competitive on-line consumer market. We will service and grow our relationships with Ford, Boeing, the U.S. Agriculture Dept., etc."
