AOL , Netscape to unveil pact-papers
August 3, 1998 06:22 AM

NEW YORK, Aug 3 (Reuters) - America Online Inc. and Netscape Communications Corp. are expected Monday to unveil a cross marketing alliance linking AOL's on-line city guides with Netscape's Netcenter World Wide Web site, according to newspaper reports.

The Wall Street Journal and Washington Post reported that the deal calls for Netcenter to promote Digital City, which operates community guide web sites for 50 U.S. cities. Digital City will become Netcenter's "local channel" for two years, the papers said, citing unnamed sources.

The two companies will jointly sell ads on the channel and will share the revenue, the papers said.
