Since I had no saliva left to lick my wounds I decided to call resellers and investigate what's happening. First I called the names listed for my zip code, 97209, Portland, Oregon, and the closest reseller is in the Seattle, Washington area about 180 miles away. Since it's a national product I wasn't so concerned that there wasn't a reseller next door. However, no one at the reseller knew anything about Portico other than "we just got it last Friday." Then I called a reseller listed for a Manhattan zip code and talked to PNG Computers (Pat Marino 718 356 0299) and he gave me a demo on his personal Portico account and it was truly fantastic. Even with his thick NYC accent Portico read from his desktop, called people in his address book, read him his e mail, responded to it with his audio msg and rescheduled appointments (calling the participants to let them know of the rescheduling-of course, now they need to be in your address book but soon Portico could just look them up for you (not in released version). Pat's long distance call to me was free of long distance charges and only his Portico minutes were tapped. At the 300 minute plan/mo., $44.95, it's cheaper to call Portico and have her call than call directly. (I don't know about the convenience factor of calling Portico first with your 877 toll free number, entering your password and requesting her to call rather than dialing immediately the number you want.) Anyway I'm going to sign up for at least one month and try it and I urge all shareholders to do the same at the reseller of their choice. By the way, Pat said sales were going very well and if he got this one acccount he's working on his yearly quota would have been met. He couldn't comment further. His company underwent a training with GMGC so they appear to be ahead of some other resellers. I think there is a demand for this product. What that means in sales or revenues or EPS I don't know. But I do know it is not a hype in any way and strong stomachs will survive.
