This will not always work as it is dependent on the version of the browser, the fonts used, and the screen resolution: in some cases part of the URL is hidden. But the subject number is part of the URL for the thread. So if you are using navigation, you may need to open the subject into it's own window to examine the address (URL) that reveals the subject number.
