Henryk, Don't think I would be buying CSCO today although I love the company. They announce earnings after the close tomorrow, and I expect good earnings, in line with expectations, maybe a penny higher. This should lead to a small selloff, just as other big techs with good earnigns have sold off after recent earnings releases.

I am just an average investor, but I think that ASND has a chance to do better than CISCO.

Size does matter. I think that it is easier for ASND with a market cap of 10 bill to increase their mkt cap than it is for CSCO with 100 billion mkt cap. I sold my CSCO today hoping that I might buy it back a little cheaper in a few days. CSCO will make or miss their earnings by a penny or two. I think that ASND has got the right product mix and better technology in the WAN market then CSCO. I hope that the positive news from CISCO will change the markets attitude and hopefully pull ASND back up to the upper 40's.

<<As a long time Ascend holder (avg price $6) I'm debating if now is the time to sell some and move into CISCO. Do you think that within a year the price af ASCEND will appreciate in line with CISCO or trail the industry ? Lets assume two scenarios:
1) ASCEND stays independent
2) LU buys them >

Henryk,
I owm them both. I believe that CSCO is a core holding. I like ASND's equipment.
