Let's hope the Supremes refuse, send it back to the Court of Appeals - where Clinton will lose - and then refuse to hear his appeal.

That will confound Clinton's obstruction timetable.

jlallen,

I recently posted up a note regarding Clinton's statement this weekend of his desire to "run again". Clinton has already mentioned this at least once before this year. Someone mentioned on a talk show that Bruce Lindsey had been going over the Presidential succession laws with the intent of trying to find ways to "work around them". If you think about it, staying in power would allow the Clintonistas to control enforcement officials. They know they are in trouble if their power base is removed. So, staying in power, in spite of the scandals, is a much better option than having to "face the music" under a possible Republican administration. If Clinton survives the current crisis, don't be surprised at some sort of natonal emergency that would allow him to find a way to stay in power. (This is scary stuff.) If that happens even once, our democracy is in trouble.
