If the Alpha chip design team at CPQ does the redesign work (remember that the design team stayed at CPQ) then Intel has to produce Alpha at .18 if they produce IA32 or IA64 at that resolution, that's the deal. Just working toward the goal is not good enough. Intel is only doing the process work, so the redesign is not their problem, it is CPQ's. I believe that CPQ intends to have designs ready for the .18 process.
