TW; <OT> I think the news pundits grab a reason and run it, if it seems to be popular, other pundits jump on , like they know what they are talking about. When I was a kid 15 , The SS Flying Enterprise sunk, Captain ( stay put ) as he came to be known even wound up with a ticker tape parade in N.Y. Every News agency in the world covered it, and they are painted about the same picture. Well now that I'm a old Deep Sea Tug Boat Master , I can look back at that and see where the News media never looked beyond the end of their nose. The coverage was massive, but very shallow minded, and BTW had I been the TUG Captain I would have towed her in before she sunk. They didn't know what they were doing. Also they never touched on the "secret cargo" that the Captain didn't know about. Which was the likely cause of her problems neither him or the chief mate could have calculated the Stability, Trim, and Bending moments, because of that. To top it off they let passengers on that ship..both the Government and the owners should have had criminal charges brought against the ones responsible for hiding the nature of that cargo from the Master. But the point I'm making is the news media made that the biggest story of it's time for weeks on end, and the truth never came out. Five years latter it was told bout the cargo, but even then they failed to connect the significance. That the news media has any idea of what's really moving the market is far fetched. --------------------- I do hope you know that some big money people are nervous as hell about the India and Pakistan confrontation since after them both setting off nuclear war heads, they have started shooting the hell out of one another, and that looks like it could be spinning out of control. How much do you see the pundits talking about tath. Of course if they did they would likely have it at least half wrong. <G> Jim
