Mark, Myrtle Beach is the right direction but wrong town...
have you thought about Baltimore (County, of course)...
one of the ten best places to live (U.S. News & World Report).
Here's my top ten list why you should move to Baltimore:

1. Great quality of life in a large, affordable and manageable city.
2. Terrific place to raise kids; near lots of culture, 3 hours to ocean or mountains 45 min. to Lancaster, PA., Washington D.C.
3. Johns Hopkins Hospital, best in the country.
4. Beautiful state, friendly people, No Southern Accent till VA.
5. Best Crabs and Crabcakes in the country.
6. Tops in Education...Stable Economy...4th wealthiest state
7. Babe Ruth, Edgar Allen Poe, J.L. Mencken, Cal Ripkin,
John Waters, Barry Levinson live here(some alive, some dead).
8.The Inner Harbor, the Orioles, the Ravens, Planet Hollywood, great Aquarium and Science Center, Chesapeake Bay, Annopolis,
also, Bubba Gump Shrimp is coming.
9. Not too big, yet big enough to have everything you could want.
10. I could get personal TA lessons (VBG).

Best wishes,
Skane
