<<<< Although companies typically don't announce the deal prior to completion, THQ acknowledges the stock's susceptibility to rumor. Therefore, in order to prevent any trading on non-public information, THQ decided to disclose it.<<<<

Just as there was more to the WCW story than initially disclosed (THQI never had a chance at getting it back) so I believe there is more to this ie. the premature disclosure. My guess is they wanted the wording about possible acquisition to cover them for not disclosing the MPRS very tentative negotiations.

This may not be the reason, but surely there was a reason to take an action which for sure was going to penalize the longs in the short run.

Todd, thanks for providing that information regarding international sales and for your recap of your talk with the company today. That's the kind of news we were hoping for. Looking forward to hearing official word about the PP from the company. Did they specifically say that they would be selling the bonds to non-brokerage institutions? I recall someone here or on another thread speculating about Bear Stearns or CS First Boston possibly being an investor - or maybe they were just thinking that they might be the underwriter. Whether they are involved or not, it's good to know that management is on top of the situation and seems to be staying the course.

Thanks again,

s.r.
