My Broker may question my option spreads if I were to use margins, I'm approved for margins but I very seldom ever use them anyway.
Only once this year did I get on margins, and that was an accident,
I bought some split adjusted calls (leaps) on CPQ, and while they never moved against me..I had unwittingly bought 2.5 x as many as I
thought I had. <G> They gave them to in in spite that it put
me margin, no questions asked, I discovered it some 5 trading days
later, & thank goodness CPQ had moved up. Being the chicken that
I am, I grabbed the profit, ( felt I didn't deserve it ) but took it
and ran, however had I let them run I would have made much more.
MUCH ! as I had caught her at 23 and they were also
deep in the money.
