I established my portfolio thru both S&P and Value Line.
However, remember why I am investigating this site- I have "taken it in the shorts" on several blue chips lately that:
A. Had a bunch of analysts in the "strong buy" position,
B. Great history of earnings growth,
C. Good P/E ratios.
Good example of this is DBD. Looked great on 4/16/98 @40. By 6/16/98
it was 24.This was after a high of 54 just shortly before.
The market is currently brutal on any stock that misses its quarterly projections. Much more so than just 12 months ago. Please be very careful with this-there is no sure thing anymore. I wouldn't have said this 2 years ago, but this is a new market.
