Edward,

I'm not naive enough to think that Beyer left on the best of terms. However, I don't think this means the other shoe will drop either. My guess is the two gents just didn't see eye to eye on the future direction of the company. The fact that the legal council also left probably indicates that Stein didn't like the way a deal was being handled. What kind of deal though? Was is a big contract or possibly a merger?

It was rumored on the Yahoo thread that Beyer and Grant were negotiating a merger while Stein was out of town a few weeks ago. Remember the LSI merger rumor? Well it could very well have been true and fell through because Stein put a stop to it. While it seems odd to me that a President and Vice President would negotiate a deal that the CEO is opposed to while he's out of town, it could have been that Stein was willing to do the merger but not under the terms that Beyer and Grant were working to. According to a long term follower on Yahoo, a similar thing happened about six years ago when the President and Vice President were working on a deal to sell VLSI to AMD. According to the poster, Stein fired the individuals and worked out some sort of investment deal with Intel.

There are a lot of unknowns here and we probably won't ever know the whole story. But the bottom line is that I disagree that it means the other shoe is going to drop just because a company doesn't issue a public statement that two executives left. If the other shoe was going to drop, I would expect the Board of Directors to oust the CEO as well and he's still there. Like you, I'm concerned, but only because the chart looks like crap and I'm holding a big position in the stock....16,000 shares last I counted!

Dan
