Yea, they'll be backed into the same desperate strategy they used for the Pentium II.... increase the die size (and cost) to pack more transistors and dissappate heat.

Pentium II is the same technology as the old Pentium, just bigger. Of course they learned from Apple that sleek design is good marketing. Make the consumer think that bigger is better!

The intriguing thing about SOI technology is that it allows for extremely faster and smaller chips for mobile communications devices.

Imagine a cellphone being built into the MacLite PDA! Something like that handy Nokia model used in the movie The Saint. 'Cept it'll have a more powerful OS!
