Hello RocketMan!

I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we are pleased to hear that your father is doing better.

What a relief to be able to use the name RocketMan again... with a clear conscience! LOL

We had to fight Chuckie off from absconding with your rightful name, but told him he just might have to spend some time in the brig. That didn't deter him. The only thing that worked was that E'Lane told him he would have to give up his treasured Garfields and go back to the red speedos... never saw someone change their tune so very, very fast <g>.

Something you said in your post reminded me of some statements made in the distant past about the strength of JC's strategy...

>>This is not withoug social consequences: in many countries this has been accompanied by riots and financial upheavals because of perceived job losses and the national security implications of leaving the national comm infrastructure to private companies.<<

Digitcom has relied heavily on the strategy of partnering with existing companies in other countries. For a small company this has a number of huge benefits. Not only does it allow revenue streams to begin rapidly without the use of large sums of capital to build infrastructure or purchase other companies outright, but it also helps alleviate the social concerns and fears associated with telecommunications control by a foreign concern... namely DGIV. Those people fearing to be out of work will still be employed by the local phone companies. The command and control concerns of the military may also be abeyed by domestic control over the dial tone. This even works better to DGIV's advantage because of its small size.

Yes, it is a very sound strategy that works very well for a company that cannot compete head to head with an AT&T, but can utilize its own strengths to advantage and even turn some weaknesses into advantages :-)

Lazarus, adding one more voice to the greetings offered to those who have returned.
