Good points. The question I think everyone should stop and ak is why is Amazon now valued at the price it should command based on year 2003-5 performance if everything goes according to plan? Where is the upside potential? What is the chance that over the next few years it will go down over that period regardless of whether the plan is viable or not? That makes it clear that Amazon is not an investment but is a speculators momentum play, and a very risky one at that.

I am a good part out of Amazon.com now short positions now - enough to not care if it goes up on a rebound because it will make it that much more attractive to short. I think the psychology of the bulls has been mortally wounded so the stock will most likely just limp from here without the violent upswing like that when it made the double top. If it continues down over the next few days as I suspect, I plan to be out altogether. I will just watch the market action and TA to determine my next entry point to short again.
