Skeeter !
Why do you always look at the past and say the future is going to
be the same ???? From the beginning of time the dram cycle has
gone form over supply to under supply.
.....a year from now....
dram may retail at the same price while it's cost of production
may be much less...
What is interesting to me is that you use a very limited time
thing...like a put...to play a very unknown thing..like the
SUPPLY/DEMAND of dram.
Do you remember when MU made a new monthly high at 26.94 ???
What if you had taken your hard earned money and just bought
MU ???? But you will not because you think you know what MU
will do in the future !!!!
God know the future !
Man can only follow the trend !

MU flashed on my computer again,... OVERBOUGHT CONDITION....MU has been overbought now for 2 days (Friday and today, Monday). RSI is also in overbought situation. This could continue this week, but this stock will need a rest soon. Then it will be interesting to see whether it will be able to stay in the mid thirties.
If their is an underlying event that continues to lift that stock: fine. If it is euphoric, irrational buying: watch out. Many institutions, low in cash, could quickly "try to take profits" on this winner.
Good luck to all.

skeeter,

MU is the only chip stock that I follow that seems to defy all logic when it comes to stock price compared to projected earnings. Since MU is kind of in a class of its own it is impossible to pick a company that is very similar to it ie DRAM only. I look at a stock like NSM or AMD and I think that they are reasonably priced based on their forward looking earnings (in fact I think NSM is getting under priced and AMD is still overpriced). I have a friend who worked on the floor of the NYSE. He said that MU had a reputation of being one of the most manipulated (by institutions) stock on the exchange. The way I see it MU is merely a vehicle for making or losing money. If this dog ever dies a real and complete death I will be surprised. My only word of advise is to ignore this stock if your decisions are based on fundamentals. If you are a momentum player then go with the trend like Larry. It is not a matter of knowing what this dog is worth--it is a matter of guessing what direction the institutions will manipulate the price. Its that simple.
