To All:

More updates to the FNTN InvestorNet (http://home.swbell.net/sprue)

(1) Added a "Site History" section to quickly take you to the most recent updates

(2) Updated charts for today (of course)

(3) Added a "Must Read" archive with links to all the information that ever appeared on the "Must Read" section of the Home page

I think that's it, but I'm tired and can't remember for sure.

I'll start beefing up the DD sections (ie, Industry Analysis, Product and Services, Competitors) soon.

Thanks for your continued input

Kevin.

PS,

I know this article was posted earlier today, but it is VERY interesting reading. It's about the "games" Market Makers play:

Heyy Radim,
PA has created a separate division, whose main responsibility is to
screen and obtain Statewide Information Services contracts. In the
old days they had an ITB ( Invitation to Bid ) process which was very
cumbersome and lengthy, they have added an ITQ ( Invitation To Qualify ) process, which pre-screens potential contractors. Government entities know full well that a lengthy contract process gets them antiquated technology. What does this mean to FNTN? We have the ability to qualify statewide with a single effort and in turn bid on contracts that will be on the State, County & Municipal level.
Saving the Company and expediting the entire process.

Radim,

I would estimate that our intranet took about a year in total to implement, but it was done in stages and is an ongoing process. I know that about 4 company staff were responsible for it, but no idea how many contract personnel were involved. Keep in mind the size of what I am talking about here - we have something like 40,000 employees. A 'packaged' product would certainly be quicker. This was essentially a custom job.

Mike

P.S. I used the words 'ongoing process' above. It strikes me that maintenance and expansion - basically a service contract - might be just as lucrative for FNTN as the initial placement. Fairly exciting thought?

Radim: re: Intranet design & implementation schedules.
I just asked a client of mine whose business is designing and implementing intranets. here's his answer:

Anywhere from 2 months to a year.

The time frame on a fairly basic site could go as follows

Analysis: 2 weeks
Development: 4 weeks
Installation/ Implementation: 2 weeks
Total time: 8 weeks

Complexity and size dramatically change the equation, as does the question "what is the client doing now?" Is there is a pre-existing intranet or server-based system as opposed to paper? etc etc.
Hope this helps,
Wally
