Alien,

I think you know that anything posted on Yahoo is basically worthless. 99.9% of the statements made are geared towards the positions they hold in Vivus.

I also think that you yourself have some sour grapes to deal with based on your past experiences with the stock. Vivus bit off more than it could chew and I think that is it in a nutshell. Leeland and company never had the resources nor finances to compete against the likes of the media the shorts and Pfizer. All Wilson has to do now is negotiate one solid deal and you'll never have to worry about his screw ups again.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>As the first step in the implementation of this new strategy and to immediately reduce expense, the Company has agreed to facilitate the transition of its urology sales representatives to ALZA Corporation. Sales personnel joining ALZA will continue to sell MUSE on a limited basis until Dec. 31, 1998. VIVUS has also terminated its agreement with Innovex, whereby Innovex provided VIVUS with a contract sales force. Internationally, sales of MUSE will continue to be supported by VIVUS' marketing partners, Astra AB and Janssen Pharmatceutica. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

This is a copy of the press release that I know everyone read atleast once...Vivus did not sell the sales force-the one time charge of 6.5MM is cheaper with less turmoil.

The moves the mgmt group is making with head count reduction, reorg, etc is classic when a partner is in the wings...the new partner wants everything as clean and buttoned up as possible in order to concentrate on the new focus, strategy, company, etc.

Folks you do not do this if you do not already have guarantees in writing from AZA or someone...I still see AZA as the play..

E'lane is definitely the voice of reason...this is hurting some alot more than others...no one likes to be down and to lose. VVUS will be fine, its just going to take more patience than one normally can tolerate.

Just my opinion,
