Beg to differ with you, but Atlanta did suffer in the gas shortage. I lived there then. In Texas we can get 88 at off-brand stations.

I'm jealous of you guys! Here in Pleasanton, CA (a suburb of San Francisco/Silicon Valley) we're paying about $1.34. And we even have several refineries within about 30 miles. We haven't seen anywhere more expensive, including tourist areas like Carmel and Santa Cruz or small towns up in the mountains. Makes no sense at all. But if we want to drive 15 or so miles to Hayward, we can get it for $1.12 at the ARCO.
