Pretty low.

Let's clarify that and say "automated factories". There certainly are plenty of body shops set up that will do the work for you. However, even though they use tools per se, it's more like each person has their own tool box as opposed to the factory having efficient assembly lines. Another major difference is that a company like ALYD keeps adding more tools and updating their technology as they go, whereas the off-the-shelf stuff is "as-is".

As to the pitfalls of thinking you can play catch-up, I got this off the IAIC board:
